Description
The Skynest Motion: Suspension Light, designed by Marcel Wanders and his studio in 2022, features a dome made from a network of luminous and dark elements. The core structure is enveloped in a thin, interwoven tubular mesh crafted from recycled and recyclable polyester fabric. Each light element is powered by micro-connectors at the top of the dome, with a two-tone mesh covering them, while the side facing the inside remains white to optimise light emission from the LED module.
The dome is equipped with a built-in balancing system at the top to ensure stability, and an aluminium ring at the base holds the structure securely in place through a simple snap-fit mechanism. The Skynest Motion: Suspension Light is assembled without glue, allowing for easy separation for recycling or future repairs. Finished in blue tourmaline, the plastic structure is painted to match the lamp’s exterior, and it is fitted with built-in electronics and a dimmer for adjustable lighting control.
