Description
The Skynest C, designed by Marcel Wanders and his studio in 2022, is a ceiling light that merges luminous and dark elements within its dome structure, creating an intriguing network of core components. The dome is covered with a thin, interwoven brick red tubular mesh made from recycled polyester fabric, offering an eco-conscious approach to design. Each luminous element is powered by micro-connectors located at the top of the dome, with a two-tone mesh covering the elements; the side facing the interior is white to optimise light emission from the integrated LED modules.
At the bottom, an aluminium ring secures the dome’s network structure through a snap-fit system, eliminating the need for glue and making it fully separable for future recycling or repairs. Additionally, the fixture has an integrated dimming system that is compatible with various dimming controls, including 0-10V, 1-10V, DALI, and PUSH, providing flexible control of the light output.
