Panthella: Floor Lamp White Opal Acrylic

Description

The Panthella floor lamp was designed by Verner Panton in 1971 in collaboration with Louis Poulsen. Known for his imaginative approach to form and light, Panton set out to design a lamp in which both the base and the shade would reflect and shape the light. The result is an organically curved silhouette that diffuses a soft, ambient glow.

The lamp features a white opal acrylic shade that allows light to pass through gently, creating an even, glare-free illumination. The trumpet-shaped base adds to the effect by reflecting light downward, contributing to the lamp’s overall warm and comfortable atmosphere. Panton’s use of smooth, rounded forms is evident in the way the lamp’s components flow seamlessly together, offering both function and a clear visual identity.

A lasting example of Panton’s lighting philosophy, the Panthella remains one of his most recognisable designs and continues to be appreciated for its thoughtful combination of form, material and light.
