The KTribe Floor 3, designed by Philippe Starck in 2007, is a floor lamp that provides diffused lighting through its carefully designed construction. The lamp features a base, rod support, and diffuser support made from die-cast, polished, and chrome-plated Zamak alloy, offering a sleek and durable frame. The galvanised P04 steel base cover adds stability to the design, while the lamp’s diffuser system is composed of a polycarbonate opal inner diffuser, which softens the light, and outer diffusers in aluminised bronze PMMA.
The upper ring is made from injection-moulded, transparent brown polycarbonate, adding a subtle contrast to the outer bronze diffuser. For easy adjustment of brightness, the KTribe Floor 3 includes an electronic dimmer located on the power cable, offering flexible control over the light intensity to suit various needs. This lamp blends functional design with refined materials, creating a sophisticated lighting solution.
