Designed by Jakob Lange of BIG Ideas, the Keglen Pendant features a conical shade with a curved opal insert that diffuses glare-free light downward, while a discreet top opening emits a soft upward glow.
The Keglen Pendant, designed by Jakob Lange of BIG Ideas, forms part of a family of lights developed in collaboration with Louis Poulsen, defined by its clean geometry and thoughtful detailing. Its distinctive conical shade incorporates a built-in curved opal insert that softens the light and directs it downwards without glare. The white interior further enhances light reflection, ensuring an even and comfortable illumination.
A discreet opening at the top of the shade allows a gentle upward glow, subtly enhancing the surrounding atmosphere. While the design language is consistent across the collection, each version of the Keglen Pendant introduces its own specific light diffusion, offering variations in character while maintaining the core principles of the series.
The development of the Keglen family was guided by the ambition to create a modular system with shared aesthetics and construction principles, enabling the creation of multiple lighting types that remain visually coherent. With this approach, Jakob Lange and the BIG Ideas team have designed a pendant that integrates both functional lighting and a carefully resolved formal identity.
