The Graduate bookcase by Molteni&C, designed by the acclaimed architect Jean Nouvel, is an ingenious living system that epitomises lightness and simplicity. This wall structure is ingeniously resolved with a single thick top shelf that anchors to the wall or ceiling and houses a system of steel braces for even weight distribution across the entire bookcase. This architectural approach showcases Nouvel’s vision of modular, suspended elegance.

Slender steel tie rods descend from the anchored top shelf, each marked with numbered notches for flexible shelf placement, allowing customisation of storage layout. The technologically advanced shelves, featuring a core of plywood with an outer coating of anodized natural or black aluminium, highlight the thoughtful craftsmanship and modern aesthetic. Awarded the ADI Index (2004), Red Dot Design Award (2005), and the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany (2006), Graduate stands as a testament to innovative and functional design.
