Description
The Coroa: 480 Pendant Light, designed by Emmanuel Babled in 2009, is a modern suspension light featuring 16 panels arranged around the light source, offering both direct and indirect illumination. The light’s structure is crafted from lacquered metal, with double-face mirror PMMA panels that reflect and diffuse light. The hardware is crafted from polished metal, complemented by three stainless steel suspension wires, which ensure both strength and a clean aesthetic.
The name “Coroa,” meaning “crown,” reflects the light’s design concept—a circular, canopy-like structure reminiscent of a crown, evoking a sense of sacredness and ritual. However, Babled subverts traditional design expectations by incorporating asymmetry, creating an element of surprise. The mirrored acrylic panels add a dynamic quality to the light, suggesting movement and changing perspectives. The Coroa: 480 Pendant Light is designed to accommodate 16 x 25 Watt E14 bulbs, providing ample light for a variety of settings.
