The Casting Concrete: Outdoor Light, designed by Vincent Van Duysen in 2016, combines functional design with handcrafted artistry. This model is non-dimmable and features a body made from poured concrete, which is a mixture of cement, fine inert materials, and reinforcing fibres. Each light is individually manufactured using a moulding process, and minor differences in appearance and colour between units reflect the unique craftsmanship of each piece.
A frosted polycarbonate diffuser is securely attached to the heat sink, providing a watertight seal and ensuring durability. The UV-stabilized diffuser helps prevent yellowing over time. The luminaire includes a neoprene cable segment and an electrical connection kit for single multicore cables. Casting Concrete: Outdoor Light also comes with dowels for secure installation on solid surfaces, with an additional fixing plate available for mounting on cement paving, poured concrete, or plinths. The integrated 220/240V power supply ensures easy connection and reliable performance.
