Description

There’s a quiet sense of movement in the way Bowl: H9 opens—its edges slightly uneven, its form gently shifting as though caught mid-bloom. Inspired by nature and shaped by hand, this small bowl is part of Paola Paronetto’s ongoing exploration of organic forms and lightweight materials.

This piece is made from paper clay, a mixture of traditional clay and paper pulp. The surface carries the familiar pleated texture found throughout her collections—an effect that gives Bowl: H9 the appearance of delicately crumpled paper, though it is solid and durable. The finish, known as Corteccia, adds further depth, with fine ridges that recall the textures of bark or softly folded petals.

While modest in scale, it shares the same sense of gentle geometry that defines the larger pieces. The shape feels both considered and free, like a flower turning subtly towards the light. Available in a range of colours, each bowl is unique, shaped by hand and subject to natural variations that are an essential part of its character.

Paola Paronetto’s paper clay work moves fluidly between art and design, with pieces now recognised around the world. This bowl reflects that balance—thoughtfully made, rooted in craft, and shaped by a clear sensitivity to material and form.
