Description
Designed by Piero Lissoni, the Avio 3 Seat Sofa is a contemporary marvel that redefines versatility and comfort in modern seating. Perfectly blending elegant design with functional adaptability, Avio is crafted to enhance any space, making it ideal for those who value both aesthetics and relaxed living.
Upholstered in luxurious Pelle Venezia Cognac leather, the Avio sofa’s seats are supported by an individual frame attached to a sleek metal structure. The sofa’s base is finished in bright chrome, adding a touch of sophistication. The seats and backrests are generously padded with variable-density foam encased in polyester fiberfill, ensuring exceptional comfort and support.
The Avio sofa is mounted on a central beam structure made from heavy-gauge tubular steel, with interconnected beams allowing for a multitude of configurations. This innovative design includes a steel truss framework with ‘fingers’ that support the seats and backrests, making it possible to create a variety of arrangements, including benches, two-seaters, three-seaters, chaise longues, and tabletops. The slipcovers of the Avio sofa are completely removable, allowing for easy maintenance and a fresh look whenever desired.
ABOUT KNOLL – A Legacy of Modern Design
Knoll embodies a belief in the power of modern design—a philosophy that has guided the brand for over 80 years. Rooted in the Bauhaus design principle that modern furniture should complement architectural space rather than compete, Knoll has consistently upheld this ideal, creating environments where form and function coexist harmoniously.
Founded by Hans and Florence Knoll, the company draws inspiration from the innovative spirit of the Bauhaus School and the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Their vision of a new kind of furniture and workplace design, where craftsmanship and technology blend seamlessly, continues to shape Knoll’s values and informs every piece produced today.
For more than eight decades, Knoll has collaborated with pioneering modernists and bold contemporary designers, pushing the boundaries of design. Partnerships, from the timeless works of Florence Knoll to the innovative creations of Antenna Design, Don Chadwick, and David Adjaye, have defined the brand’s legacy and will continue to shape its future.
Knoll is more than just furniture; it is about creating connections—between people and their work, their lives, and their world. Recognised globally since 1938, Knoll’s workplace and residential furnishings are designed to inspire, adapt, and endure.
