Founded in New York in 1938, Knoll is recognised worldwide as a leader in the design of residential and office furnishings, thanks to products that are inspiring, evolving and timeless.

The firm’s founder Hans Knoll belonged to the third generation of a family of furniture makers from Stuttgart, who had moved to the United States intending to transfer the ideas and forms of European design overseas. Instead, however, Knoll has always kept faith with the original tenets of the Bauhaus philosophy, according to which modern furniture should complete the architectural space, and never compete with it.

From pioneering modernist vision to bold contemporary designs for home and office, Knoll is recognized internationally for creating workplace and residential furnishings that inspire, evolve, and endure. For more than 80 years, the collaboration of Knoll with celebrated architects and designers has led to some of the most influential designs of the last century.
