HKliving is a Dutch interior brand founded by Emiel Hetsen and Sander Klaver. The blend of Emiel’s creative vision and Sander’s strategic mindset has proven to be a winning combination. HKliving designs accessible collections inspired by traditional and practical designs, always respecting the history behind each piece while giving it a modern, refreshed aesthetic. Their approach brings together classic influences with contemporary sensibilities, creating pieces that are both timeless and forward-thinking.
In 2002, Emiel Hetsen began his career as a professional antique buyer, travelling the world to source unique vintage pieces for projects across Europe. By 2008, as demand for vintage furniture surged, Emiel realised the need for larger-scale production and partnered with his childhood friend, Sander, to start manufacturing their own designs in Asia. This collaboration marked the birth of HKliving.
What started as a small collection of 28 products quickly gained global recognition, with the brand expanding to 12 countries within its first year. Today, HKliving is available in over 70 countries, offering a truly global perspective on modern living.
