In September, IL Lusso had the privilege of hosting part of the “Doing Business in South Africa” initiative organised by the Italian–South African Chamber of Trade and Industries (Italcham).

The event formed part of the Youth Entrepreneurs South Africa Summit (B20 initiative), bringing together a 40-member delegation from Confindustria Giovani: Italy’s young entrepreneurs’ association, to explore South Africa’s growing investment and design landscape.

A Meeting of Vision and Craft

During their visit, the delegation engaged with South African business leaders and innovators, sharing insights into cross-border collaboration, sustainability, and the future of design-led industries. Among the event’s key voices were Lorenzo Bagnoli, Anna Quattrone, and Giovanni Atena, alongside case studies from Italcham members Pelliconi and WAM Group, presented by Chamber Secretary General Pamina Bohrer.

At IL Lusso’s Johannesburg showroom, guests experienced Italian excellence first-hand, from contemporary interiors to bespoke design partnerships with renowned brands such as Flexform, Henge, Arclinea, and Culti Milano. The visit offered a tangible glimpse into how Italian design values of craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless beauty continue to find resonance in South Africa’s evolving luxury market.

Strengthening Italian–South African Collaboration

The initiative underscored Italcham’s ongoing mission to connect Italian expertise with South African opportunity while nurturing the next generation of global entrepreneurs. For IL Lusso, it was a celebration of shared values: quality, heritage, and the belief that meaningful design transcends borders.

IL Lusso continues to showcase how Italian heritage and South African vision converge through design, craftsmanship, and enduring partnerships.
